Bunny Bytes was founded in 1997 by house rabbit owners Steve and Cathy Seiller. In 2000, Jennifer Johannsen joined the team as office manager, eventually taking over the business in 2002. Since the beginning, our mission here at Bunny Bytes has been to improve the well-being of house rabbits by offering high quality, environmentally-friendly and innovative products. Our inspiration is derived from our own house bunnies and the work we've done with the hundreds of rabbits we've helped rescue, rehabilitate and re-home.

We're not a high volume pet superstore, so as much as we'd like to, we can't guarantee you wholesale prices or free shipping. What we can guarantee is that when you support us, you support rabbits. Each year we donate a percentage of sales, irrespective of profits, to Evergreen Rabbit Rescue, a Seattle-area rabbit education and shelter support group we co-founded.

We can also guarantee you great customer service from people who know rabbits. If we make a mistake, we'll go out of our way to make it right for you. If you place an order, you'll receive confirmation that your parcel has been shipped, so you know when to expect its arrival. If one of the items you ordered is out of stock, we don't penalize you because it's on backorder, instead, we pick up the shipping when it restocks.

Order through our website, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our online shopping cart ordering system accepts MasterCard, Visa and Discover. For your security, our ordering system features Pretty Good Privacy, the best in secure transaction technology. do i have to place my order online?

If you're not comfortable placing your order over the internet, you're not alone. According to the Better Business Bureau Online, most online shoppers are wary of giving out their credit card information. Because we understand this concern, we offer several other order options below.

Other common fears about shopping online are the reliability of the business, privacy, concerns about returning items and whether or not differences with merchants can be resolved. Some of our customers have asked us to respond to these concerns, and you'll find the answers we gave here in this FAQ.

The good news is, most online shoppers say that an endorsement or referral from a third party would make them more confident about shopping online with a particular business. So, if you have questions about us, please don't hesitate to ask a fellow bunny lover!

why do you need my email address?

We ask for an email address and a telephone number in addition to a shipping address on our order form. This information ensures that you receive your order smoothly. We may have to advise you of a backordered item, a product upgrade or even a train derailment that affects your parcel's transit time (yes, it really happened!). We understand that our customers value their privacy. Please be assured that your information, including your e-mail address, is not for sale. We don't like receiving spam and we bet you don't either!

Should you decide to proceed with your order, several payment options are available. Please do not transmit your account information by e-mail, this is not secure!

Give us a call! Place an order, ask a question or receive a shipping quote. If we are not available to take your call, you may leave your order and your billing information on our private voice mail system 1-844-813-0684 (outside US 1-206-933-1132). Or, leave your phone number and a time when you may be reached and we will call you!

by mail:

Order by postal mail. Put your order together using our online shopping system and - just before you would enter your credit card number in our online form - you can print out your order. You then have a choice of entering your credit card number, expiration date and a signature, or paying with a personal check drawn on US funds.

Please note: Bunny Bytes does not make money from your shipping costs! You will be charged a fair enough rate to cover the shipping costs set by the carriers. Actually, in the past several years we have not charged enough to cover our costs. If your shipping charges seem high, it is probably because we are in Seattle and you are across the country. If you have been purchasing from another website which charges little or nothing at all for shipping, here is how it works: They add the shipping expense into the price of your item or they are backed by large amounts of venture capital and are temporarily subsidizing your shipping costs to get your business. We have recently seen even the biggest websites discontinue this practice.

If you have ANY questions about your shipping charges, just email us and we will be happy to discuss it with you to manage your shipping expense. Please be assured that we are continually looking for ways to reduce the cost of shipping expenses from our carriers and pass the savings on to you!

delivery outside the United States:

Yes, we ship orders outside the Continental United States! Orders are shipped via U.S. Postal Service unless you specify another service. Charges are based on the method of shipping (we offer a choice of surface or air mail), the weight of the shipment and the distance it must be shipped. This represents our exact cost to ship the item to you. Our website shipping calculator is programmed to provide these options to more than 200 countries!

For orders outside the U.S., and U.S. territories, product availability is subject to the customs regulations of the country/territory of destination.

All catalog prices are in U.S. dollars. Duty charged on shipped products by the country of destination is the responsibility of the customer, however it has been our experience that most shipments have not been charged this fee. Because of NAFTA, items manufactured in the US and shipped to Canada or Mexico are duty-free. We will certify these items when we ship your order. Payments may be made either by credit card or by check drawn on a U.S. bank.

Postal insurance must be purchased for the package and the rates are very reasonable. For orders being shipped to Canada, the insurance costs $1.10 USD for a $50 order and $2.00 for a $100 order. For orders being shipped to most all other countries, the insurance costs $1.85 USD for a $50 order and $2.60 for a $100 order. The insurance offers indemnity for loss of or damage to items paid at the parcel post rate. Express Mail Service includes insurance. Feel contact us for a shipping quote. We will advise you at this time of any potential customs restrictions.

All shipping prices reflect rates set by United Parcel Service (UPS) and the United States Postal Service (USPS). We do not make money from your shipping charges, but rather charge just enough to cover the costs of shipping your requested items to you.

We ship via United Parcel Service (UPS) ground service or the United States Postal Service (USPS). Merchandise will arrive within 3-7 business days from the date shipped, depending on where you are located. We ship in-stock orders within 3 days, Monday through Friday. If we do not have an item in stock, we will notify you.

Should you have a question or concern regarding your estimated shipping charge, please don't hesitate to contact us. We'll be happy to provide a hassle-free exact shipping quote. Simply let us know which items you're interested in and your zip code. Please note: asking for a shipping quote does not commit you to placing an order.
